13th Annual Advance Tyre Service (Oakey) Country Music Rush

The 13th Annual Advance Tyre Service (Oakey) Country Music Rush was held at Jondaryan Woolshed on 15 & 16 March 2008. Country Music Rush is organized by Garden City Country Music Assn Inc (Toowoomba) each year.

A total of 227 acts entered for the weekend and competition was strong in all age groups with Gary McDonald of Dalby Country Music Club taking out the Overall Winner and receiving for his reward a hand carved original trophy (gold miner panning for gold).

Amber Goldsmith (Bunya Country Music Club – Kingaroy) was a very worth winner of the Junior Section with Kimberly Thomson (Cane Country Music Club) accepting the Overall Juvenile.

Newcomer to the competition circuit, Trudy Hintz was awarded the Gabby Johnston Perpetual Trophy for the Best Australian Song for her rendition of “Saddle Up Old Darky”.
